Build Your Database by Gaining New Followers

Now that you have set up your Retain & Grow Scheme, it’s time to start collecting customers to build your database. The more customers you have in your database, the more loyal poddle can make them… and the more sales you can get from them to grow your business. 

 

 

How Do I Collect Customers?

With the help of your poddle Toolkit, and the script we recommend you use - your customers will become aware that you will reward them with poddle.

With just a single tap, you can collect customers and gain Followers in a flash. By following the steps below, you can begin building your all-important customer database:

Collect Your First Customer

If they do not have the poddle app…

  • Step 1 – When your customers are at the till, ask them, “are you collecting rewards with us on poddle?”. If they say “no” explain to them that you use poddle to reward your customers.
  • Step 2 – If they are interested, tap & hold your NFC card to their phone to open the app store. They can then download the poddle App.
  • Step 3 – Once downloaded, the customer can create an account.
  • Step 4 – As you used your NFC card to prompt the download of the poddle app, once the customer account has been created, it will automatically open your profile for the customer to follow your business.
  • Step 5 – Ask the customer to follow your business and voila! You have gained your first follower and we can add them to your customer database – called

If they already have the poddle app… once you have tapped & held your NFC card to their phone, they will be directed straight to your profile where they can follow your business.

 

 

How Do I Attract Customers to Follow My Business?

Gain a Follower on Your Premises

Every time a customer walks in, you should be trying to get them to follow your business by offering them your New Follower Reward.

To reward them onsite, follow the steps below:

  1. Step 1 – Start a conversation with your customer! It could look something like this:

You: “Are you collecting rewards with us on poddle?”

Customer: “What is poddle?”.

You: “We use poddle to reward our customers. If you follow our business on the poddle app today, I can give you a free [insert what your New Follower Reward is]!”

  1. Step 2 – If your customer is interested in redeeming your reward, tap & hold your NFC card to their phone. The poddle app will open and they will be prompted to create an account (or follow your business - if they have already created an account).
  2. Step 3 – Once they have followed your business on poddle, they will be shown your New Follower Reward.
  3. Step 4 – Prompt your customer to click “Redeem Now”.
  4. Step 5 – After a single tap of your NFC card to their phone, ask the customer to show you the approval code and reward them!

Customers can also scan the QR code on your New Follower Reward poster to be directed to the reward page. Follow Step 4 and Step 5 for the same result.

 

Gain a Follower Off Your Premises

Collecting Followers doesn’t have to be in person. Customers can still follow your business once they leave your premises and still receive their New Follower Reward.

  • Step 1 – The customer has downloaded the poddle app and created an account.
  • Step 2 - Now they can browse through the app to find businesses that reward their customers with poddle.
  • Step 3 – When a customer selects “Collect Stamps" on the homepage of the poddle App, they will see all businesses near them. They can click on a business and will be prompted to follow the business and be presented with the New Follower Reward. Customers can also search for your business specifically to claim your New Follower Reward. 

If a customer is unaware of poddle, you can use your poddle Promotion Centre and Message Centre to contact them whenever you need.
